Inspirational verses

I have arrived
I am home
in the here
in the now
I am solid
I am free
In the ultimate
I dwell

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Yoga is the cessation of the waves of the mind. Then the Seer dwells in his own true nature.

~ The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1.2–1.3

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honourably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

~ Rumi

You are not a drop in the ocean.
You are the entire ocean, in a drop.

~ Rumi

Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realize.

Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success.

If you do not find peace within, you will not find it anywhere else.

An ounce of practice is worth a ton of theory!

~ Swami Sivananda

Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself.

Do your best, and then relax. Let things go on in a natural way, rather than force them.

If you do not choose to be happy, no one can make you happy.

Everything on earth is of mixed character, like a mingling of sand and sugar. Be like the wise ant that seizes only the sugar, and leaves the sand untouched.

~ Paramahansa Yogananda
